On the road to the digital future: an interview with our management about cloud migration projects and digital transformation

Back to overview

Today, digital transformation is more than just a buzzword - it is an essential part of any future-oriented company. In the following interview, our Managing Director Elton Schwerzel provides insights and visions regarding cloud migration projects and the long-term business strategy of in-factory GmbH.

Our Managing Director Elton Schwerzel has been working at in-factory GmbH for a year and is responsible for customer service, sales and marketing and supports quality assurance and project management.

Focus on digital transformation

Hello Elton, thank you very much for taking part in this interview. Could you start by telling us something about the importance of digital transformation for in-factory GmbH and the industries in which we operate?

Elton: Digital transformation is a focus topic for us. In today's business world, where technology permeates everything, business strategies that take digital transformation into account are a must. Currently, only just under 40% of European companies manage their data in the cloud, particularly in the traditional areas of data management and data warehousing. We will see many projects in these areas over the next few years.

Some say that the topic of transformation has been used too excessively for years to describe change in the IT world. It has increasingly become a buzzword in marketing, which means that the term "transformation" itself has lost its value. For us, however, transformation is consciously used, actively implemented and, above all, driven forward together with our customers. Our task is to support our customers in reducing reservations, expanding expertise and preparing them in the best possible way. One of the ways we do this is through Informatica's product and migration certifications.

What opportunities do you see through cloud migration projects, both for us and for our customers?

Elton: We can really see some exciting opportunities here. Currently, around 80% of companies use hybrid environments, which means that they are already using some cloud solutions. However, these are often operated independently of corporate IT or even with several isolated solutions without integration. Through our extensive experience, we can help customers integrate these silos, maximize business value and, most importantly, work with the business to develop sustainable data management concepts. These concepts are designed to support the business models of the future.

In your opinion, what role does digital change play in our long-term business strategy?

Elton: Digitalization undoubtedly plays a central role in today's business world and has a major impact on our strategies. Our customers see many benefits in digitalization, including increased efficiency, greater customer focus, improved decision-making, increased agility, the ability to globalize and, most importantly, shortened innovation cycles. At in-factory GmbH, we have aligned our strategy to meet these requirements. With almost 30 years of experience in IT projects, we have significantly expanded our expertise in cloud technology. This expertise spans on-premise, cloud and hybrid solutions and creates trust among our customers. We are determined to continuously expand this expertise so that we can continue to provide our customers with the best possible support.

Can you give us some insights into our collaboration with our partner Informatica and how we promote the training and development of our employees in this area?

Elton: Our close cooperation with Informatica enables us to maintain our leading position in the German-speaking region. We are proud to have the largest team of certified Informatica Cloud Consultants in the DACH region. We have been working successfully with Informatica for almost two decades, serving customers from various industries. Based on these many years of experience, we have created a specialized area to support our existing Informatica customers in their migration and transition to the cloud. We have already successfully implemented the first projects in this area and actively supported our joint customers. We will continue to expand this area in order to provide our customers with the best possible support.

Effective data management is critical to business success today. Given the sheer endless stream of data that organizations face, manual approaches to data management are no longer viable. Every organization must be able to use its data reliably to make essential business decisions, reduce costs and meet increasing compliance and regulatory requirements. Trusted data is at the heart of every business activity today and forms the foundation of every enterprise product," emphasizes Christian Geckeis, VP of Sales and General Manager for the DACH region at Informatica. "We are proud to partner with in-factory GmbH to help them on their journey to modernize their customers' data management solutions using our cloud-based data management platform to help drive data excellence in the enterprise.

Thank you for the interesting interview, Elton! Finally, could you give us a brief insight into our next steps in terms of digital transformation and cloud migration?

Elton: We have recently established our partnership with Snowflake. Snowflake and Informatica are already working together very successfully and we want to bring our nearly 30 years of IT project experience to these partnerships. We plan to leverage the use cases we have developed in our customer environments to help our customers and potential new customers develop the business models of the future. Our goal is to remain a reliable partner during the digital transformation and to continuously expand our expertise.
